Squad Structure 2009
The training squads at West Auckland Aquatics were restructured in late 2008 to align with the club's recently developed strategic plan. This was aimed at taking WAQ into the future as a world class club and providing all members with the opportunities to reach their potential. The strategic plan and squad structure from the previous four years proved to be highly successful and the club is now one of the country's most successful. Now there is a need to avoid complacency, continuing to build on our success and strive for our vision to enjoy being a world class professional sports organisation.
The structure has been designed to provide a clearer progression pathway for swimmers and to allow the coaches to better support swimmers in reaching their potential.
If you have any queries please see John (Director of Swimming).
Note: Squad selection is based on 200 IM times (Bronze Performance 100 IM) and training ability.
200/100 IM to be swum at Club nights and Meets.
Final decision with squad selection is always the decision of the Director of Swimming.
